ESTABLISHMENT HISTORY

Vietnamese Studies was first taught at Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE) on 15th May 2001.

Department of Vietnamese Studies was founded at Faculty of Philology, HNUE according to Resolution No. 1249/QĐ/ĐHSPHN-TCCB  23rd October 2002.

Faculty of Vietnamese Studies was founded at HNUE according to Resolution No. 1732/QĐ/ĐHSPHN-TCCB 27th September 2005.

MISSION AND VISION

*Mission:

-Providing high quality human resource and scientific products in Vietnamese Studies; contribute to the promotion of Vietnamese country and people to the world.

- Training university graduates, post graduates specialized in Vietnamese Studies for both Vietnamese and international learners.

- Teaching Vietnamese and other specialized subjects for international learners.

- Cooperating, partnership in education programs with institutions, colleges, universities in and out of Vietnam.

- Organizing research and conference activities in Vietnamese Studies.

*Vision:

Looking forward to becoming a center of high quality training and researching Vietnamese Studies, which is able to partner with institutions, colleges, universities in and out of Vietnam; and which contribute actively to the research and education of Vietnamese Studies.

HUMAN RESOURCE

Faculty of Vietnamese Studies has 03 subjects specialized departments:

+ Culture

+ Tourism

+ Language and Communication

In 2018, the Faculty has 24 staffs, including: 01 professor, doctor; 01 associate professor, doctor; 14 doctors; 08 masters qualified.

EDUCATION SPECIALISATIONS:

- Faculty of Vietnamese Studies is a multi-discipline education center major in social sciences, focusing on following directions:

+ Studies of Vietnamese Culture – Tourism

+ Studies of Organisation and Management of Culture Event

+ Studies of Vietnamese Culture – Media and Communication

+ Training of trainers majored in Vietnamese Studies

+ Training of trainers majored in Vietnamese Culture

+ Training of trainers majored in Vietnamese as a foreign language

+ Long-term and short-term education program for domestic and international learners.

TRAINING BLOCK AND ACHIEVEMENT

- University graduate

+ Training Type: full time, on campus

+ Training unit: credit

+ Time frame: 4 years

+ Subject: domestic and international learners

+ Graduated: 16 intakes (since 2002)

+ Amount of graduates: average 80-90 leaners per school year

- Post graduate/Master education

+ Training Type: full time, on campus

+ Training unit: credit

+ Time frame: 2 years

+ Subject: domestic and international learners with a related bachelor degree

+ Graduated: 7 intakes (since 2011)

+ Amount of graduates: average 20-30 leaners per school year

COOPERATION AND INFORMATION EXCHANGE

Faculty of Vietnamese Studies keeps building cooperation and partnership with Yen-nan University, Hung-He University (China), Taiwan National University of Education, Osaka University of Foreign Languages (Japan), Paris VII University, University of Hawaii at Manoa, and so on. The cooperation and exchange focus on training Vietnamese Studies, area studies, and academic researches.
