Ladies and Gentlemen!
It is our great honour to be a university whose precursor is the Philology University Committee, established right after the birth to the independent country of Vietnam (in 1945). Now, our Faculty of Philology is the cradle that grows literature teachers and educators as well as nurtures writers, poets, researches, journalists, editors, etc. for the whole nation.
It is my great pleasure to welcome you all here on this very beginning of a new spring – a season of good deeds, new life and hopes.
I highly appreciate your coming here to our university, from which the good, the beautiful, the essence, the poetic of the spiritual life will spread to the young generations in Vietnam. This is a great opportunity for our lecturer and students of Philology to exchange and learn from you so that we will join in companionship for the very best values of the humankind.
I would like to share with you a secret, that is, each and very Vietnamese child grows up in their mother’s lullabies, which means that the child’s heart and soul are imbued with love through the lullabies right from their very first days of life, and in time, their love for the family, love for the homeland and people develop naturally. Lullabies are poems, music, culture, and art forms.
Our people wholeheartedly respect peace because we have gone through wars; we are now integrating into the region and the world, so we do want to learn and internalise the good, the beautiful of the world’s cultures, including art and literature; we would also like the world to know and understand our good culture values, and this exchange is an invaluable chance in this respect.
Our lives are shot, and the moments like this are really scarce. I do hope that the openness and in-depth impression of today’s exchange will spread the very best for a more worthwhile life!
I wish that from now on we will hold each other’s hand more firmly, commit to more sustainable connections so that love will spread more widely and the good values of the souls will multiple for a better world.
Thank you for everything!
On this occasion, I would like to thank the Vietnam Writers’ Association for their kind consideration in giving this opportunity to our university.
I wish the exchange will be a great success!
Thank you!
