TRAINING PROGRAM: PSYCHOLOGY

1. OUTCOME STANDARDS

1.1. Knowledge

- Acquiring basic, novel and up-to-date knowledge about politics, culture, psychology in general and school psychology in particular; obtaining basic and modern knowledge about researching methods of psychology and school psychology.

- Being able to apply information technology to teaching and doing research

- Being able to use foreign language in communication and studying specialized materials.

1.2. Skills

- Having skills to diagnose and assess psychological characteristics of students; identifying methods and models to support students who having academic, communication, self -direct and other psychological difficulties.

- Having capacity to consult educational managers, teachers, parents and society about various problems in relation to children and their development.

- Having skills to develop and implement screening, prevention and early intervention programs for adolescents who show impaired problems or inappropriate social behaviors.

- Having basic skills to consult and implement psychology and school psychology research activities at different psychological research and practice centers. 

1.3. Attitude

- Having initiative and positive attitude for enhancing different personality characteristics of a teacher in an institution based on the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; positively developing and penetrating Maxit- Leninit’s perspectives and Ho Chi Minh’s mind; having patriotism and socialism. 

- Nurturing love for the occupation and students; respecting, protecting and developing professional values; appreciating responsibility for the occupation, students and the society; being aware of updating specialized scientific information; keeping the passion for self-study. 

 

1.4. Position, expected jobs and ability to improve qualifications after graduation

- Counseling for children and students at counseling office in school settings, colleges, universities, counseling centres and hospital; providing psychotherapy services for individual who having psychological disorders; developing and implementing counseling, psychotherapy services as well as other issues of applied psychology for individual or social organizations if needed.

- Teaching different courses in colleges or universities including counseling psychology, psychotherapy; consult educational managers; having competency in doing research in the field of psychology, counseling psychology, psychotherapy at psychological research and practice centers. 

- Being able to continue studying at upper level within similar scientific areas.
