The Signing Ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE) and University of Huddersfield, The United Kingdom

On Novermber 27th, 2018, HNUE and University of Huddersfield, The United Kingdom signed Memorandum of Understanding about the cooperation agreement between the two universities.

On behalf of HNUE, there were Prof. Dr.  Nguyen Van Minh - President of HNUE, M.A. Nguyen Nhat Tan - Head of President’s Office, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Ngoc Quang - Head of Office for Postgraduate Affairs, Dr. Le Thi Thu Trang - Deputy of Office for Academic Affairs, Dr. Dinh Minh Hang - Head of Office for Political and Student Affairs, Dr. Luu Thi Kim Nhung - Dean of Faculty of English, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Hai Phong - Dean of Faculty of Literature, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Xuan Thao - Dean of Faculty of Primary Education, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thi Lam - Dean of Faculty of Early-Childhood Education, Dr. Do Trung Kien - Vice Dean of Faculty of Technology Education and students. On behalf of University of Huddersfield, there were Prof. John Anchor - Vice President of Economy University, University of Huddersfield, Mr. Andrew Mandebura - Director of International Development, University of Huddersfield and Ms. Xuan Le - Chief Representative of University of Huddersfield in Vietnam.   

Based on the cooperation agreement, students from Faculties of Literature, English, Technology Education, Primary Education, Early-Childhood Education who completed their 3rd year undergraduate study at HNUE will continue their 4th year at University of Huddersfield. Students who complete their 4th year at University of Huddersfield will receive B.A. degrees from University of Huddersfield, UK. Students who graduate at HNUE and meet English language and academic requirements will be transferred to the respective Master's program at University of Huddersfield. The Master's program lasts for one year.

The agreement is based on a meeting between the two universities in July 2018, in which HNUE has conducted specific exchanges on the curriculum of respective departments to ensure students who transfer to University of Huddersfield to study the 4th year or Master's program can meet the curriculum requirements and the academic standards of both institutions.

The University of Huddersfield is also committed to offering 12 scholarships of up to 50% of tuition to students of HNUE with high achievements in study and training.

Following the signing ceremony, Mr. Andrew Mandebura, Director of International Development, University of Huddersfield, gave a speech and answered questions from students of HNUE. The questions involved problems of study, research, living and study expenses, personal expenses while studying at University of Huddersfield, UK. Students who are interested in the program can contact directly Ms. Xuan Le, Chief Representative of University of Huddersfield in Vietnam through the mail address: x.le@hud.ac.uk.    

The signing ceremony creates opportunities for long-term cooperation between the two universities, contributing to tightening the link between science and training between the two countries, towards the 45th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and the United Kingdom.
