International Roundtable Meeting within the framework of the ILITE4 Conference at Hanoi National University of Education

On the afternoon of December 12, 2025, Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE) solemnly organized an International Roundtable Meeting within the framework of the 4th International Conference on “Innovation in Learning, Instruction, and Teacher Education (ILITE)”, with the participation of numerous international universities.

 

Representing the international universities and delegates were: Prof. Dr. Kevin Kien Hoa Chung (The Education University of Hong Kong – China); Prof. Dr. Andrew J. Martin (University of New South Wales – Australia); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoa Nguyen (University of New South Wales – Australia); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liesl L. Gambold (Dalhousie University – Canada); Prof. Dr. Gabriele Schrüfer (University of Bayreuth – Germany); Prof. Dr. Iris Clemens (University of Bayreuth – Germany); Prof. Dr. Iain Hay and Mr. Peter Hawke (Australian Catholic University – Australia); Prof. Dr. Johnny A. Ching along with delegates Gideon Legaspi, Irish Bautista, Jaime Zeus Agustin, Wynne Angelynne Chui, Donna Maligaya, and Carmela Eyes (De La Salle University-Dasmariñas – Philippines); Dr. Cheryl Lyn C. Ayuste (Rizal Technological University – Philippines); Mr. Thaddeus Owen D. Ayuste (Philippine Normal University – Philippines); Dr. Noel R. Representing Hanoi National University of Education were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hien – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council, alongside representatives of heads of offices, departments, faculties, institutes, and subsidiary units of the University.

Opening the working session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hien – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council, expressed his joy and honor in welcoming the professors, experts, and delegates from international universities. He stated that the ILITE4 conference enhances academic cooperation and builds strong friendly relations between higher education institutions. It also affirms the University's commitment to accompanying international partners in orienting and developing future education. Amidst the rapid changes of the digital age, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hien noted that innovating teaching and learning methods and improving the quality of training and scientific research are essential requirements to adapt to technological developments and modern educational trends, thereby promoting international integration and sustainable development.

The program received numerous insightful exchanges from delegates and experts representing prestigious universities and research institutes from Vietnam, Germany, Australia, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, and China. Delegates expressed their impression of the strategic vision of Hanoi National University of Education and shared experiences in teacher training, educational sciences, early childhood education, psychology and pedagogy, natural sciences, and social sciences. During the session, HNUE and international partners discussed practical cooperative orientations, such as joint research, international co-authorship, faculty and student exchanges, enhancing the quality of scientific journals, organizing international conferences, and developing training programs in English. Notably, the initiative to build an international cooperation network was highly valued, opening prospects for long-term collaboration.

Hanoi National University of Education is one of the leading pedagogical institutions in Vietnam, established in 1951, with over 70 years of pioneering teacher training, educational research, and various scientific fields. The University aims to become a prestigious research university in the region by 2030, based on three strategic pillars: enhancing research capacity, modernizing learner-centered education, and promoting international cooperation and integration. The University emphasizes that cooperation goals extend beyond mere connection to substantive programs like faculty and student exchanges, joint research, and program development, particularly in STEM fields, digital education, and teaching method innovation.
