SCIENTIFIC WORKSHOP FOR YOUNG LECTURERS FROM FACULTY OF PHYSICS, BIOLOGY AND CHEMISTRY

30-03-2016
At Hanoi National University of Education. the scientific workshop of young lecturers at the faculty level is organized every two years in order to choose which outstanding scientific research can attend scientific conference at the higher level.

This year, thanks to the agreement of university managing board, the office for Science and Technology, and the support from Faculty of Physics, Chemistry and Biology, young lecturers from Faculty of Physics, Chemistry and Biology collaborated to organize the “Scientific workshop for young lecturers from faculty of Physics, Biology and Chemistry” for the first time. The workshop was held on March 22, 2016 at the meeting room of Faculty of Physics, Building C, Hanoi National University of Education.

The workshop was joined by PhD. Dr. Nguyen Van Minh – president of HNUE, M.A Nguyen Minh Thuy – Head of office for Science and Technology; M.A Nguyen Thu Hien – Deputy Secretary; Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Ngoc Ha – Dean of faculty of Chemistry; Assoc. Prof. Dr Luc Huy Hoang – Dean of faculty of Physics; M.A Doan Van Thuoc – Vice Dean of faculty of Biology; lecturers and post-graduates working and learning at HNUE, and particularly all of the young lecturers teaching at faculty of Physics, Biology and Chemistry.

In the opening speech of the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr Luc Huy Hoang declared: “Many problems these days require a combination of knowledge of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Therefore, 30 reports sent to organization committee involved contents from various fields.

PhD. Dr. Nguyen Van Minh said that : “ The boundary among Chemitry, Physics and Biology has been blurred. Therefore, workshops to connect many faculties in the university are warmly welcomed”. Moreover, PhD. Dr. Nguyen Van Minh put an emphasis on combined scientific research so that “ scientific achievement no longer belongs to only individual but belongs to the community”

With a view to meeting the comprehensive basic education reform in Vietnam, particularly the combination of science subjects, lecturers and researchers from Faculty of Chemitry, Physics and Biology have to foster collaboration in doing research. Therefore, 3 reports chosen to be presented at the workshop are related to Physics – Chemistry, Chemistry – Biology, and Biology- Chemistry. In addition, the conference managing board received 30 research papers, 19 of which were presented in form of posters.

In the workshop, the judges chose 3 most outstanding research papers, including:

“Binding of O2, CO and no molecules to heme-protein: DFT and DFT-D studies” – Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Dinh Thi Hong Van, Pham Thi Bich Phuong- Faculty of Chemistry.

“Quantitative and extracting method of siRNA from từ fungus samples used in regulation genes – Trieu Trung Anh- Faculty of Biology

“Electro-optical interferometric microscopy of periodic and aperiodic ferroelectric structures” - Duc Thien Trinh, Vasyl Shynkar, Ady Arie, Yan Sheng, Wieslaw Krolikowski, Joseph Zyss- Faculty of Physics.

The report by Ph.D Trieu Trung Anh from Faculty of Biology was voted the most by the guests attending the workshop.

Ccientific workshop for young lecturers from faculty of physics, biology and chemistry has witnessed a change in the way of organizing and the report content. This shows a gradual progress in conducting scientific reports of young lecturers. This is not only the chance to show the capabilities of doing research but also to introduce new approaches to science as well as to co-operate to other lecturers from faculty of physics, biology and chemistry.

Thanks to the success of the workshop, young lecturers have chances to prove their professional abilities. Moreover, this workshop promotes spirit science and creates valuable scientific works, contributing to education and training development in Vietnam.
