Closing and Award Ceremony of the 3rd Chemistry & Natural Science Olympiad 2026

On the morning of March 29, 2026, at Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE), the Closing and Award Ceremony of the 3rd Chemistry and Natural Science Olympiad for General Education Students 2026 was held in a solemn atmosphere. The event welcomed a large number of delegates, scientists, teachers, parents, and students from high schools across the country.

 

Attending the ceremony were Dr. Do Duy Phi- President of the Chemical Society of Vietnam; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Quang - Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Physical Society; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Son - President of Hanoi National University of Education, representing the co-organizing unit. The event also saw the participation of experts, scientists in the fields of Chemistry and Natural Sciences, along with over 400 students who were awarded Gold Medals at the Olympiad.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Son - President of HNUE, affirmed that the 3rd Chemistry and Natural Science Olympiad 2026 carries profound significance in discovering, fostering, and nurturing young talents, practically contributing to the sustainable development of the country in the new era. He respectfully acknowledged and expressed gratitude to parents and the accompaniment of organizations and unions for joining hands to create a favorable environment and motivate students to pursue their scientific passions. Furthermore, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Son emphasized the orientation toward building an open, humanistic, and integrated educational environment, always ready to welcome students with aspirations to rise and a passion for exploring knowledge. The University expressed its desire to meet the students again in various roles in the future - from contestants in upcoming seasons and participants in academic playgrounds to undergraduate students, master's students, and PhD candidates. He also congratulated and recognized the students' efforts, asserting that many opportunities lie ahead for them to continue learning, practicing, and asserting themselves.

Dr. Do Duy Phi – President of the Chemical Society of Vietnam, representing the co-organizing unit, expressed his joy in accompanying the program and affirmed that the Olympiad is a prestigious academic playground contributing to spreading the passion for scientific research among general education students. With a spirit of impartial, objective organization focused on quality, the Olympiad is increasingly expanding its scale, asserting its position and prestige within the educational community. Dr. Do Duy Phi noted that from an initial scale of over 2,000 contestants and 3 participating units, the competition has grown vigorously, attracting nearly 13,000 contestants nationwide. The prize distribution ratio is reasonably structured to both ensure recognition and accurately reflect professional quality, thereby encouraging students' learning and creativity. The results achieved are not only individual accomplishments but also evidence of the students' efforts, the schools' companionship, and the parents' care.

The 3rd Chemistry and Natural Science Olympiad 2026 was organized in accordance with Decision 2358/QD-BGDDT and the cooperation program between HNUE and the Chemical Society of Vietnam to improve the quality of science teaching and learning in schools. This year's competition attracted nearly 13,000 contestants participating in 7 examination contents from Grade 6 to Grade 12, held at 18 test sites across 13 provinces and cities nationwide.

In conclusion, the Organizing Committee awarded 7,272 prizes, including 684 Gold Medals, 1,356 Silver Medals, 2,066 Bronze Medals, and 3,166 Consolation Prizes, with over 55% of contestants winning awards. The Olympiad is not only a meaningful academic playground but also contributes to discovering and fostering gifted students, creating high-quality human resources for the field of natural sciences in the future.
