HNUE Partners with UNESCO to Promote STEAM Education for Vietnamese Female Students

On the morning of March 24, 2026, Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE) held a ceremony to summarize Phase 2 and launch Phase 3 (2026–2029) of the project "We CAN for a CONNECTED Future," themed "From Learning to Leading through STEAM Education." The event was attended by representatives from UNESCO Vietnam, leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training, representatives from the CJ Global Group, along with experts, educators, and interested students.

The program summarized the outstanding results of Phase 2, which was implemented in coordination with the School of Educational Sciences and various Faculties within HNUE. These efforts expanded learning opportunities for thousands of students, enhanced the capacity of teachers and educational managers, and fostered safe, inclusive learning environments. Following this direction, Phase 3 continues to focus on strengthening STEAM education for students, especially female students and learners from disadvantaged and ethnic minority areas. This initiative aims to develop creative thinking, problem-solving skills, and confidence, providing more equitable access to science, technology, and innovation.

Mr. Jonathan Wallace Baker - UNESCO Representative to Vietnam, also addressed the program. 

This is also one of the fields in which Hanoi National University of Education possesses significant professional strengths and is constantly promoting through training, research, and practical engagement activities. The fact that the University serves as the host and the School of Educational Sciences acts as the focal point for implementing the program demonstrates the effectiveness of the sustainable cooperative relationship between the University and UNESCO in deploying innovative educational initiatives. At the same time, it continues to affirm the role, prestige, and responsibility of Hanoi National University of Education in accompanying educational initiatives with profound social significance. Such close coordination contributes to promoting STEAM education associated with gender equality, aiming towards building a fair and inclusive learning environment where all students, especially female students, have the opportunity to develop and lead the future.

Taking place from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, the program offered diverse activities, including an exhibition of student artwork, a roundtable discussion with Ministry of Education and Training representatives, and cultural exchanges with South Korean artists. Students in attendance had the opportunity to engage with professional insights from speakers, expanding their understanding of education, gender equality, and the role of innovation. Notably, the event was hosted by MC Khanh Vy as a bilingual moderator, creating an inspiring and connected atmosphere for all participants.
