Closing Ceremony of the 10th Asian Conference on Coordination Chemistry – ACCC10: Chemistry for Our Sustainable Development

On the evening of October 26, 2025, at Hanoi National University of Education, the 10th Asian Conference on Coordination Chemistry (ACCC10) under the theme "Chemistry for Our Sustainable Development" officially concluded, marking the end of a productive, substantive, and academically rich program for the domestic and international scientific community.

 

Attending the Closing Ceremony were Prof. Yamashita - The exclusive secretary of ACCC; Prof. Marlon T. Conato - Chair of ACCC11 in 2027 in Philippines; Dr. Wenjun Liu - Executive Editor, Royal Society of Chemistry; Prof. Toshiaki Murai - Dedicated editor (The Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan (BCSJ); Dr. Do Duy Phi - President of Chemical Society of Vietnam; Prof. Le Thanh Son - President of Hanoi University of Science, VNUH; Prof. Huynh Dang Chinh - Co-chair of ACCC10, Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Representing Hanoi National University of Education were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hien - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University's Board; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Trao - Vice President; Dr. Kieu Van Hoan – Vice President, and Prof. Dr. Dang Ngoc Quang – Co-Chair of ACCC10, Dean of Faculty of Chemistry.

Delivering the closing address, Prof. Dr. Dang Ngoc Quang - Co-Chair of ACCC10, extended his profound gratitude to domestic and international scientists, lecturers, graduate students, and undergraduates for their active participation and contributions to the Conference's success. The event also acknowledged the companionship of international organizations and partner universities in the region, reflecting the strong cooperative spirit among Asian scientists.

Throughout its duration, the Conference attracted nearly 600 delegates from 24 countries and territories, featuring 444 scientific presentations, including 6 plenary lectures, 4 award lectures, and 1 special lecture by Prof. Konstantin S. Novoselov - the 2010 Nobel Laureate in Physics.

Alongside the presentation sessions, scientists engaged in numerous group discussions, academic exchanges, and research cooperation meetings, placing special emphasis on connecting young researchers and female scientists, in true ACCC spirit: promoting multinational scientific cooperation towards sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region.

During the Closing Ceremony, the Conference presented the Poster Prizes for young researchers, sponsored by three prestigious chemical societies: the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), the American Chemical Society (ACS), and The Chemical Society of Japan (CSJ).

The RSC Poster Awards, comprising 10 prizes, were awarded to:

  1. Taichi Baba (Japan): “Structure Determination of Isolated Avermectin Derivatives by Encapsulation into a Highly Porous Metal–Organic Framework”

  2. Chen Liao (Japan): “Electrocatalytic CO₂ Reduction by a Redox-Tunable Ni-NHC Complex Featuring Triethylene Glycol Substituents”

  3. Geetanjali Deka (India): “Fe(III)-Complex Incorporated and Surface-Modified Porous Silica Nanosphere as Hepatocyte-Targeted MRI Contrast Agent”

  4. Yuki Tomita (Japan): “A Molecular-Based TiO₂ Photoelectrochemical Cell Promoting Overall Water Splitting by One-Step Photoexcitation”

  5. Tran Nhat Linh (Vietnam): “Novel Organoboron Complexes Based on a Phenylene Backbone: Synthesis, Structural Characterization and Photophysical Properties”

  6. Anatolii Botezatu (Russia): “New Photosensitizers for Photodynamic Therapy Based on Ruthenium(II) Polypyridyl Complexes”

  7. Aguri Akitomi (Japan): “Attempts to Form Porphyrin Oligomers Through Metal-Bridged Side Chains”

  8. Neha Kumari (India): “Employing Bio-Inspired Lone Pair–π Interactions in Sequestration and Activation of Environmentally Detrimental Molecules”

  9. Yingqian Wang (Singapore): “Adaptive by Design: Development of Electronically Flexible Smart Ligands”

  10. Vu Thi Huong Giang (Vietnam): “A Theoretical Study of the Oxidation of Benzene by Manganese Oxide Clusters: Formation of Quinone Intermediates”

The ACS Poster Awards, comprising 5 prizes, were awarded to:

  1. Hiroaki Suzuki (Japan): “Influence of Protonation and Coordination to Ruthenium on the Electrochemical and Structural Properties of Azaphenalenyl Compounds”

  2. Nguyen Tran Huong Ly (Vietnam): “A New Anticancer Candidate Class: Platinum(II) Complexes Bearing 8-Hydroxyquinoline Derivatives and Ethylene”

  3. Chinari Fukushi (Japan): “Diiridium Complexes Coordinated by Lithium-Ion Endohedral Fullerene Li⁺@C₆₀”

  4. Pooja Singh (India): “Selective Functionalization of Azulene Encapsulated Within a Water-Soluble Pd₈ Barrel”

  5. Genki Saito (Japan): “Crystal Structure and Vapochromic Behavior Coupled with Structural Dynamics of HOFs Consisting of Tetra[2,3]thienylene with Carboxyphenyl Groups”

The CSJ Poster Awards, comprising 5 prizes, were awarded to:

  1. Tetsu Sato (Japan): “Crystal Polymorphism–Induced Intramolecular Electron Transfer and Magnetic Behavior in Cerium Double-Decker Complexes”

  2. Subin Park (South Korea): “N-Heterocyclic Carbene-Derived Carbon Disulfide Radical Ligands for Palladium Diradical Complexes”

  3. Taiki Yamaoka (Japan): “Investigation of photoelectric conversion mechanism of organic solar cells with electron-accepting Pt(II) complexes”

  4. Mr. Y.Q. Zhai (China): “Quantum Spin Wave Excitation Observed in a Single-Molecule Magnet”

In the concluding remarks, Prof. Yamashita - The exclusive secretary of ACCC expressed pride in the robust development of the coordination chemistry research community in Asia and highly appreciated the host country Vietnam's meticulous and professional organizational efforts.
