Signing Ceremony for the Recognition of Equivalent Training Programs Between Hanoi National University of Education and Ho Chi Minh City University of Education

On the afternoon of May 15, 2026, Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE) solemnly organized the signing ceremony of a Cooperation Agreement with Ho Chi Minh City University of Education (HCMUE) to recognize equivalent training programs.

Attending the ceremony, on the side of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, there were Prof.Dr. Huynh Van Son - President; M.A. Nguyen Ngoc Trung - Vice President; M.A. Nguyen Vinh Khuong - Secretary of the University Council for Science and Education, Deputy Head in charge of the Office of Science, Technology and Environment, and the Scientific Journal; M.A. Nguyen Ngoc Hung - Head of the Personnel and Administration Office; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Duong Thi Hong Hieu - Head of the Training Office; Dr. Lam Thanh Minh - Head of the Office of Political Work and Student Affairs; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Tat Thien - Dean of the Faculty of Psychology; Dr. Nguyen Dac Thanh - Deputy Dean in charge of the Faculty of Educational Sciences; Dr. Huynh Pham Dung Phat - Deputy Head of the Training Office; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang - Director of the STEM Center; and Dr. Nguyen Linh Phong - Lecturer of the Faculty of National Defense Education.

On the side of Hanoi National University of Education, there were the presence of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Duc Son - President; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Kieu Van Hoan - Vice President; along with representatives of the leadership of functional offices, centers, affiliated schools, and specialized faculties.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Duc Son - President of Hanoi National University of Education, affirmed that the event not only marks an important step forward in the cooperative relationship between the two key teacher training institutions of the country but also demonstrates the determination to build a substantive, sustainable, and deep partnership. This agreement aims to implement specific and practical content, realizing the orientations that both sides have paid attention to and desired to promote for a long time; thereby expanding opportunities for exchange of students and lecturers, and strengthening cultural connection between the North and the South. Expressing expectations for the path ahead, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Duc Son hoped that there would soon be delegations of students participating in the academic exchange program between the two universities, contributing to building a dynamic, open, and highly connected academic environment. This cooperation is the fruit of the two units' teams of officials and lecturers who have coordinated closely and worked with a high sense of responsibility.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Duc Son - President of Hanoi National University of Education, delivers his speech

Prof.Dr. Huynh Van Son – President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, expressed his appreciation and extended his gratitude to Hanoi National University of Education for its support and companionship throughout the university's development process. According to him, the fact that the two Presidents representing the two national key pedagogical universities together signed this cooperation agreement is an important step to realize strategic development orientations in the future. In the initial phase, both sides will focus on key tasks such as quality accreditation according to international AUN standards, expanding learning and experiential opportunities for students, and promoting the connection of research groups, specialized units, as well as international partner networks. Prof.Dr. Huynh Van Son expected that the cooperation would create positive impacts on training activities, scientific research, and the development of the team of lecturers and young scientists, while affirming that the greatest value of the cooperative relationship lies in practical contributions to the education sector and sustainable development in the future.

According to the cooperation agreement, Hanoi National University of Education and Ho Chi Minh City University of Education agreed to promote cooperation in building and recognizing a list of equivalent course modules based on the training curriculum, output standards, and the number of credits of each course module; at the same time, they will coordinate to implement student exchange programs, creating favorable conditions for students to study at the partner university and have their learning results recognized according to the regulations of each side.

In addition, the two universities will periodically review and update the list of course modules to ensure suitability with new training programs, while strengthening lecturer exchange activities through both face-to-face and online forms. The cooperative activity is expected to contribute to promoting academic sharing, improving training quality, and developing the team of lecturers of both units in the coming time.

During the working session, many contributions from teachers, lecturers, and representatives of specialized units of both universities were also presented to enhance the efficiency of cooperation implementation. The two sides agreed to initially approve a list consisting of 14 pairs of training programs recognized as equivalent, and proposed to strengthen communication about benchmarking activities to expand learning and exchange opportunities for students. The opinions also emphasized ensuring quality and strengthening coordination between training units to support students during the transition of programs and credits; at the same time, they proposed to step up the equivalence conversion of test scores from the standardized university entrance examinations (High School Assessments), develop the computer-based testing format, support E-learning systems, and organize more specialized workshops in the coming time.

Representatives of Hanoi National University of Education and Ho Chi Minh City University of Education sign the Cooperation Agreement
