Prof. Dr. Do Van Doat - Head of the Organization and Personnel announcing the Resolution to establish the 3 Schools
The establishment of the 3 new Schools is implemented based on the execution of Prime Minister's Decision No. 452/QD-TTg dated February 27, 2025, approving the Planning of the higher education and pedagogical institution network for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050; Politburo Resolution 71-NQ/TW on breakthrough development in education and training; along with the National Target Program for the 2026-2035 period on modernization and quality improvement of higher education and the development strategy for HNUE to become Hanoi National University of Education in the near future. According to this plan, Hanoi National University of Education is identified as a key national higher education institution in pedagogy, oriented towards research and high-quality training, playing a core role in the national teacher training network.
According to the University Council's Resolution, the three newly established Schools include: School of Child Development Sciences, School of Educational Sciences, and School of Mathematics and Computer Science. The units are organized according to a modern, interdisciplinary model, inheriting HNUE's traditional strengths while expanding into key areas of educational science and technology.
The School of Child Development Sciences is oriented to become a national key center for training, research, and knowledge transfer in early childhood development sciences, particularly during the foundational stage of 0-6 years. This School focuses on interdisciplinary research on child physiology, nutrition, psychology, and education; training preschool teachers, special education specialists, and early childhood development experts; while also consulting and supporting the community in early education and child care and development.
The School of Educational Sciences was established to serve as a reputable center for educational science research and training, contributing to the modernization of Vietnamese education. The School conducts basic and applied research in education, educational policy, educational psychology, and education in the digital age; trains lecturers, researchers, and educational managers; while also providing consulting and services to enhance educational quality at educational institutions nationwide.
The School of Mathematics and Computer Science aims to become an excellent training center and advanced research hub in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Information Technology. The School focuses on developing modern research directions such as artificial intelligence, data science, big data analytics, and modeling; promotes international cooperation; trains high-quality teachers, lecturers, and researchers; participates in nurturing gifted students and supports digital transformation in education.
The event announcing the Resolution to establish the 3 Schools under Hanoi National University of Education is an important milestone in the University's development strategy, opening up new opportunities for training, research, and community service. The three new Schools are expected to create in-depth academic spaces, promote innovation, and make practical contributions to the development of a modern and humane Vietnamese education system.
