In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Son – President of HNUE, provided an overview of the University’s history and development over more than 70 years. He emphasized that HNUE offers a wide range of academic disciplines, from teacher education and fundamental sciences to social sciences, humanities, and applied fields, supported by an experienced faculty and leading experts in education. The University also operates a comprehensive system of affiliated practice schools, including the HNUE High School for Gifted Students and Nguyen Tat Thanh Lower and Upper Secondary School, which play an important role in bridging theory, research, and teaching practice. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Son expressed his confidence that initiatives such as teacher training, professional development programs, the integration of Cambridge curricula, and opportunities for internships and employment would bring concrete and meaningful benefits to both students and faculties of HNUE.

Speaking on behalf of Cambridge International Education, Ms. Kanjna Paranthaman – Regional Director for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, expressed strong confidence in the long-term and comprehensive potential for cooperation between the two institutions. She highly valued the reputation, tradition, and achievements of HNUE in training, research, and international cooperation, and emphasized that the implementation of this agreement would contribute to advancing sustainable development goals in teacher education, effectively support educational programs in Vietnam, and further strengthen the connection between HNUE and the global Cambridge network.

Under the terms of the agreement, the two parties will jointly implement a number of key initiatives, including: offering short-term Cambridge Initial Teacher Training (ITT) courses for students and teachers; conducting Professional Development Qualifications (PDQ) programs for university lecturers and in-service teachers; and recognizing AS/A Level qualifications for admission to relevant academic programs at HNUE. The cooperation also encompasses creating internship and employment opportunities for HNUE students at Cambridge schools and centers in Vietnam; supporting HNUE’s affiliated schools and early years centers in applying the Cambridge curriculum; and exploring publishing collaboration with HNUE Publishing House in the development, review, and distribution of international educational materials.
This agreement is expected to generate practical value, enhance the quality of teacher training, and strengthen the international integration capacity of both faculties and students at Hanoi National University of Education.
