Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE) and the National Science Museum, Republic of Korea

On September 22, 2025, Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE) solemnly held the Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Science Museum, Republic of Korea.

On behalf of National Science Museum, there were Dr. Sukmin Kwon – Chair, Dr. Yangki Hong – Researcher, and Ms. Sugyeong Bae – Researcher.

On behalf of Hanoi National University of Education, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Son – President, Dr. Dinh Minh Hang – Head of the President’s Office, Dr. Tran Cuong – Deputy Head of Office of Undergraduate Training and Acting Director of the Center for Testing and Educational Quality Assessment, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hung Son – Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Danh Bich – Dean of the Faculty of Physics, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Quoc Hoan – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, Dr. Dang Vu Khac – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Geography, Dr. Pham Thi Ngoc Quynh – Acting Director of the Institute for International Education and Training, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Hau – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Biology, together with faculty members from the Biology Faculty.

At the opening of the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Son – President of HNUE provided an overview of the University’s history and development. With a long-standing tradition, HNUE is one of Vietnam’s key higher education institutions, training high-quality teachers as well as experts and scientists in fundamental disciplines. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Son emphasized the importance of long-term partnerships with Korean educational institutions, a relationship that has been cultivated for over a decade through student and faculty exchange programs with Korean universities, as well as through Vietnamese language training for Korean volunteers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Sukmin Kwon – Chair of the National Science Museum, expressed his strong expectations for a long-term cooperative relationship with HNUE, particularly in scientific research, the exchange of documents, and specimen collections. This marked the first time the National Science Museum of Korea has signed a cooperative agreement with a university in Vietnam, underscoring the spirit of friendship and sustainable cooperation between the two countries. The Museum is a distinguished scientific research institution, particularly in the field of biology, and also publishes the Asia-Pacific Journal of Science on a regular basis.

Under the terms of the MOU, the two parties will jointly implement several key areas of cooperation. These include strengthening joint scientific research activities, sharing academic resources and databases for teaching and research, carrying out research and training programs to enhance the capacity of faculty, students, and scientists, and supporting specimen preservation efforts, thereby contributing to the safeguarding and promotion of scientific and educational values in the context of international integration.
