On the afternoon of January 13, 2026, the Hanoi People's Committee officially presented the appointment decision to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hien – Secretary of the Party Committee of Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE), to hold the position of Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training. This is a great honor for Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hien personally and a source of pride for Hanoi National University of Education.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hien is an alumnus of the Biology Education major, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in 1998. He earned his Master’s degree in 2001 and his Doctorate in 2009 from Hanoi National University of Education. In 2015, he was recognized with the title of Associate Professor. In the field of scientific research, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hien has made outstanding contributions, particularly in the application of information technology in biology education.

Throughout his years of service at HNUE, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hien has held many key positions, including: Lecturer at the Faculty of Biology; Secretary of the University’s Youth Union; Head of the President’s Office; Director of the Research and Development Center for Educational Materials; Director of the Center of Training and Continuing Education; and Vice President of the University. From December 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hien was trusted and elected as Secretary of the HNUE Party Committee for the 2020–2025 term and Chairman of the HNUE University Council. In 2025, he continued to be elected as Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council for the 2025–2030 term.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hien also previously served as Deputy Director of the ETEP Program Management, which focuses on developing pedagogical universities to improve the capacity of teachers and general education administrators. This experience provided a solid foundation for him to accumulate practical expertise in education management and policy-making.

Hanoi National University of Education warmly congratulates Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hien on his new appointment.
