Ceremony Commemorating the 76th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students and the Vietnamese Students’ Association (09/01/1950 - 09/01/2026)

More than 75 years have passed, yet the fire of patriotism and the indomitable fighting spirit of the young generation who "laid down their pens to join the resistance" still lives on in the hearts of every Vietnamese person. January 9th annually is an occasion for every student to uphold the spirit of emulation in studying and personal development, preparing for the great goals ahead to lead the country into a prosperous and "transformative" era. Joining the joyful and exciting atmosphere of the new academic year, the Students’ Association of Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE) solemnly organized a program to commemorate the 76th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students and the Vietnamese Students’ Association (January 9, 1950 – January 9, 2026).

 

Attending the program, representing the Hanoi Students’ Association, was Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thao – Member of the Executive Committee of the City Youth Union, Deputy Head of the Department for Youth and Children Affairs of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, and Vice President of the Hanoi Youth Federation.

Representing the University Leadership, the program was honored to welcome: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hien – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kieu Van Hoan – Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hung Son – Member of the Party Committee in charge of mass organizations, Acting Head of the Office of Political Work and Student Affairs; Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Thuy – Secretary of the University’s Youth Union; Dr. Dinh Hoang Duong – President of the University’s Student Association and Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union; M.A. Do Ba Chin – Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union.

The program also welcomed leaders from various functional offices, representatives of the Party Committees and Deans of faculties throughout the university, Secretaries of Youth Union branches, Presidents of Student Association branches from constituent faculties, and more than 1,000 students from all over the university.

Opening the program, delegates and students enjoyed special musical performances and looked back at the prominent milestones of the HNUE Students’ Association during the 2024-2025 academic year.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Dinh Hoang Duong – President of the Student Association and Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, shared profound insights into the development journey of each generation of student members. He also commended the significant achievements of the HNUE Students’ Association in recent times. The President expressed the Association's determination and responsibility in fostering and enhancing the quality of student life. His message served as a powerful motivation for every student to continue promoting their pioneering role and perfecting both intellect and ethics to become citizens who contribute to the development of the society and the country.

On the occasion of the Traditional Day, the University Leadership presented a vibrant bouquet of flowers to congratulate the HNUE Students’ Association, expressing confidence in the continued growth and success of the university's student generations.

Notably, to honor outstanding achievements in Association work and student movements for the 2024-2025 academic year, the HNUE Students’ Association presented Certificates of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Students’ Association and the Hanoi Students’ Association to exceptional collectives and individuals. The ceremony also commended students achieving the "Student of 5 Merits" title at all levels and awarded the "January Star" and "January Flower" awards to exemplary Association officers. These recognitions provide significant motivation for students to strive even further in the coming academic year.
