- Application process
Candidates submit their applications via mail (applications with postal stamps will be accepted from March 19, 2024, to March 22, 2024). The application for examination registration includes:
- Examination registration form (with 2 recent 4x6 ID photos taken no more than 6 months before the registration date, and all required information filled in the form).
- A certified copy, issued no more than 6 months before the registration date, of one of the personal identification documents that the candidate will use during the examination: national ID card, citizen identification card, or passport.
- Address for application submission: Center for Quality Assurance, Room 616, Administration Building, Hanoi National University of Education, 136 Xuan Thuy Street, Cau Giay district, Hanoi.
- Examination fee collection rate:
+ Levels 3-5 (B1, B2, C1): 1,800,000 VNDD per candidate (for regular students studying at HNUE, students from High School for Gifted Students, and Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School, the examination fee is 1,100,000 VND per candidate. When applying, students must include a photo of their student ID card. For dual-degree students and final-year students who have not graduated, a confirmation from the Training Faculty must be submitted).
+ Level 2 (A2): 1,500,000 VND per candidate.
- Payment method: transfer the fee using the following information:

Transfer description: Full name – date of birth – thi CCTA bac A2/3 level.
(For example: Nguyen Van A 01.01.1990 thi CCTA 3 bac)
+ Applications with postal stamps must be submitted before March 23, 2024
+ Examination fees are considered valid when they are recorded in the University’s account between March 19, 2024, and March 22, 2024.
- Timeline
Scheduled for April 6th and 7th, 2024. The list of examination rooms, venues, and examination sessions will be announced on the University’s website (www.hnue.edu.vn) starting from April 1st, 2024.

- Examination format
Four skills include Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
According to Decision No. 1481/QD-BGDDT dated May 10, 2016, issued by the Ministry of Education and Training regarding the format of the English proficiency assessment for Level 2 according to the Foreign Language Capacity Framework Level 6 used for Vietnam (for adults), and Decision No. 729/QD-BGDDT dated March 11, 2015, issued by the Minister of Education and Training regarding the format of the English proficiency assessment from Level 3 to Level 5 according to the Foreign Language Capacity Framework Level 6 used for Vietnam.
1. Examination applications are considered valid when candidates submit their registration documents and examination fees within the specified time frame. Candidates who provide false information in their application will not be allowed to take the exam. Invalid applications will not guarantee the right to participate, postpone, or cancel the exam. Examination documents will not be returned.
The university will issue certificates according to the candidate’s registration preferences stated in the examination registration form and the information verification list. If the results do not meet the registered preferences, candidates will only receive a score report and will not be issued a certificate.
2. Procedure for withdrawing examination fees:
- Candidates who wish to withdraw their examination fees need to submit scanned copies (in PDF format) of the following documents:
+ Handwritten withdrawal request (according to the provided template) with a handwritten signature. The account number stated in the withdrawal request must be the account number of the candidate.
+ Valid national ID card/citizen identification card/passport.
+ Receipt of examination fee payment/ Transaction statement with bank confirmation indicating the transfer details.
These documents should be sent to the email address: thiccnn6bac@hnue.edu.vn during working hours. Requests sent outside of working hours will be processed on the next working day.
The withdrawal of examination fees will be processed before the exam date of that particular session. Applications received after the exam date will be processed in the next session.
- In cases where candidates have submitted the fees and documents as announced but no longer wish to take the exam, they can request a 50% refund of the examination fees by submitting a withdrawal request before the exam list is posted on the University’s website. The deadline for withdrawing the documents and fees is 7 working days prior to the exam date. The University will not entertain any requests for fee withdrawal after this deadline.
- In cases where the examination fees are invalid and the candidates are not eligible to take the exam, candidates who wish to withdraw the fees will be charged a processing fee of 100,000 VND per application to cover administrative expenses. Fee withdrawals for cases of invalid payments are only applicable within the current fiscal year and within 3 months from the date of fee submission, whichever comes earlier. After the mentioned deadline, the University will not process any fee withdrawals.
- For candidates who have paid the fees and are listed in the exam list but are unable to attend the exam due to personal reasons, they request a postponement before the exam date and their participation will be reserved for the next session. However, fee withdrawals are not allowed in such cases.
- Candidates are responsible for updating their information regarding exam lists, schedules, and exam venues on the university’s electronic information platform.
- The scheduled exam dates may be postponed or canceled depending on the university’s circumstances.
- When attending the exam, candidates must bring a valid photo as required by the law. Candidates are not allowed to bring mobile phones, broadcasting devices, or any other equipment, including wallets, and wristwatches into the exam area.
- To ensure the safety of candidates and examination, we kindly request all candidates to strictly adhere to the 2K message from the Ministry of Health.
The University reserves the right to:
- Not organize the exam if the number of registered candidates is less than 50 people
- Transfer the documents to the exam session when the number of registered candidates reaches the maximum limit.
