Welcome to the FACULTY OF BIOLOGY

The Faculty of Biology was founded the same history as Hanoi National University of Education. It was established in 1951. During the past 67 years, both the numbers of staff and research topics have grown. Today the Faculty has 60 staff members working on 8 Departments and one Museum. The Faculty has 4 undergraduate programs, 7 master’s programs, and   6 doctoral programs. Each year, about 100 students, 40-70 master and 5-10 PhD students graduate from the Faculty. They mainly continue on to become biology teachers, researchers, and education managers.

Staff members in the Faculty of Biology are actively engaged in teaching and researching. The Faculty has 6 research centers. The main research topics include: biodiversity, conservation and sustainable development, environment and environmental education, restoration and sustainable use of mangrove ecosystems, bio-mechanics and nutrition related diseases, bio-medicine, bio-active compounds from plants and microorganisms, use of microorganisms and their products in food, livestock, crops and the environment.
