1. Introduction to the Faculty of French
Main functions and tasks of Faculty of French - Hanoi National University of Education are to train bachelors of education in French, equip them with general and specific knowledge and skills, as well as knowledge of pedagogy so that after graduating, they can become teachers in the national education system. Graduates can also work in companies, enterprises or social organizations that use French.
In addition, teaching students majoring in French, the Faculty also teaches French for students and graduated students of other majors in the university. Besides providing training activities, a very important task of the Faculty is to compile textbooks and teaching - learning materials, French textbooks for higher education and post-graduate training.
2. Lecturers: The Faculty has 11 lecturers, including 2 with PhD degree and 1 PhD student studying in France. Teaching staff is well-trained at reputable domestic and overseas training institutions. Every year, teaching staff is provided with professional training courses organized by CREFAP (Asia-Pacific French Center).
3. Scientific research: The Faculty members actively participate in scientific research activities inside and outside the university. For example: writing articles for regional and international seminars in the Francophone community such as: Seminars for young teachers - researchers in the Asia -Pacific region, scientific seminars in the Asia-Pacific region for prestigious researchers in the field of French.
4. International cooperation: The Faculty of French is a member of Francophonie University Association in the Asia-Pacific region (CONFRASIE) and International Francophone Network of Trainers Training Institutions (Réseau International Francophone d’Établissements de Formation de Formateurs-RIFFEF). Besides that, the Faculty is also involved in the Project for Enhancing French Teaching in the national education system (Valorisation du français en Asie du Sud-Est-VALOFRASE).
