Speaking at the conference, Prof. Nguyen Van Minh – President of the university congratulated all staff and students for achieving high achievements in science and technology activities in 2023. He affirmed that scientific research and startup ideas play an important role in the school's teaching activities. For a pedagogical university, scientific research activities will help lecturers improve the quality of training. For students, scientific research and start-up activities will help students discover new things and practice creativity. Pointing out difficulties in scientific research and start-up activities, the President believes that if they boldly commit, dare to think, and dare to implement, the students' new ideas will come true.

In the report summarizing student scientific research activities for the period 2018-2023, Assoc. Prof. Hoang Hai Ha - Deputy Head of the Department of Science and Technology affirmed that scientific research activities are increasingly having breakthroughs, reflected in the number of topics. Participate in competitions at all levels and the number of awards received is increasing. Compared to previous years, 2023 is a year with many brilliant and proud achievements in science and technology activities and is the first year the university sends projects to participate in the startup competition. Assoc. Prof. Hoang Hai Ha also counted that many students who won science and technology awards are continuing to study at higher levels at many prestigious universities in the world. These are achievements that contribute significantly to the cause of building high-quality human resources and developing a team of intellectuals in the period of industrialization and modernization of the country.

In 2023, among hundreds of student topics that were seriously evaluated at the scientific councils at the faculty and university level, 65 student projects won the Science and Technology Award for students of Hanoi National University of Education. Then, 12 excellent scientific research projects submitted to participate in the Science and Technology Awards for students in higher education institutions nationwide all won prizes, including 03 first prizes, 02 second prizes, 03 third prizes, and 04 consolation prizes. In addition, surpassing more than 1,500 student projects from more than nearly 200 universities nationwide, 01 student’s scientific research project won the Second Prize of the 25th "Scientific Research Student Award - Euréka". Faculties with many high achievements in science and technology activities of students such as the Faculty of Chemistry, Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Educational Psychology, Faculty of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology, Faculty of Special Education...

In 2023, the university also organized the first contest "HNUE students with start-up ideas" with the enthusiastic participation of students from 23 faculties and affiliated high schools. From dozens of contest ideas, the 10 best ideas received school-level awards, of which 05 excellent ideas were sent to contests at the Ministry and Hanoi Youth Union levels.

During the conference, the instructors and research groups won Science and Technology awards at the Ministry and School level, Eureka award, contest award "HNUE students with Startup Ideas", groups and individuals with many achievements and contributions to student scientific research activities were honored to receive certificates of merit from the President of Hanoi National University of Education. In addition, many scholarships to improve English skills from Intergreat Education Group Vietnam and the Education Development & Digital Technology Center (EDC) were also awarded to students who won the Ministerial Science and Technology Award and the Euréka Award.
