Since 2004, GVI has partnered with Hanoi National University of Education, specifically working with the Faculty of Special Education to conduct professional training courses in the field of Special Education. Each year, the Faculty and GVI organize a training course in July. Since 2020, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, despite not being able to conduct in-person training, these professional training courses have continued to be maintained online, with the efforts of both sides.
Each training course takes place during the summer with about 200 participants from schools and care centers for children with special needs and disabilities. The courses attract a wide range of participants from society: educational administrators, teachers (in special education and other pedagogical fields such as primary education, preschool education, social work...), parents and caregivers of children with disabilities, and those interested in the field of education for children with disabilities. In addition to professional knowledge, this is also an opportunity for exchange and learning between institutions and schools to learn from each other, helping each other to develop and for the development of children with disabilities. The training course is also an opportunity for staff and lecturers in the field of Special Education to be provided with additional professional knowledge, learn from the GVI expert team about organizational skills, participate in activities, and especially create more opportunities for professional learning for students, graduate students, and doctoral candidates.
The evaluation results after each training course always show high appreciation for the professional quality and organization of the cooperation between GVI and HNUE. GVI's activities over the past 20 years have become a brand, an annual expectation for quality professional training courses from those interested in the field of special education.
2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the partnership between the two units. The theme for the 2024 training course is "Stronger Together." The activities of this year's course have summarized the ideas of previous years, with the spirit of combining strengths and mobilizing the participation of experts, managers, teachers, parents, and especially children, including some with special needs.
20 years, a journey that ends with many beautiful memories and successes, contributing to affirming the brand of professional quality of the university and GVI. This sets the stage for the future, promising more extensive and meaningful connection and cooperation activities.
