ANNOUNCEMENT CEREMONY OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE FACULTY OF CHINESE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE, HANOI NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION

On the morning of March 27th, at Hanoi National University of Education, a solemn ceremony was held to announce the decision to establish the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture. The program was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Education of China, the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, the Beijing Language and Culture University Testing Center, the Board of Directors of Hanoi National University of Education, leaders of departments and divisions, and notably, all faculty members and students of the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture.

Attending the program, representing the Ministry of Education of China, was Mr. Ho Chi Binh, Deputy Director of the Chinese Language and Foreign Language Cooperation Center; representing the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam were Mr. Trinh Dai Vy, Education Counselor, Mr. Banh The Doan, Cultural Counselor, and representatives from the Beijing Language and Culture University Testing Center. From Hanoi National University of Education, there was Prof. Nguyen Van Minh - President of the Hanoi National University of Education, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Hien - Party Secretary - Chairman of the University Council, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Duc Son - Vice President of the University, and Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Trao - Vice President of the University.

Assoc. Prof. Kieu Van Hoan - the Head of the Personnel Organization Office, acting on behalf of the President of Hanoi National University of Education, announces the Decision to establish the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture and appoints an official to be in charge of the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Nguyen Van Minh - the President of Hanoi National University of Education, congratulated the establishment of the university's 24th training faculty, marking an important development and contributing to the cultural and academic exchange between Vietnam and China based on understanding of language and culture. He expressed his belief that "With a well-trained, young, dedicated, and dynamic team of faculty members, the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture will have a clear development strategy, specific plans, and a roadmap to make contributions to the overall development of the University."

Representing the Ministry of Education of China, Mr. Ho Chi Binh, Deputy Director of the Chinese Language and Foreign Language Cooperation Center extended warm congratulations to the Hanoi National University of Education and expressed sincere gratitude to the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam and the esteemed faculty of Hanoi National University of Education for their genuine concern and support for Chinese language education. Mr. Ho Chi Binh stated, "The establishment of the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture at Hanoi National University of Education not only provides Vietnamese students with systematic opportunities to learn Chinese but also brings new impetus to the cooperative relationship between the two countries in the field of education. This event not only benefits cultural exchange and integration between the two nations but also plays a positive role in promoting the long-term development of the bilateral relationship."

Representing the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture, Ms. Ngo Thi Khanh Chi shared that starting as the Chinese language discipline - after 15 years of formation and development, the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture has now been established with the spirit of overcoming all difficulties and making relentless efforts in program construction and operation to ensure both fundamental knowledge and the unique identity and characteristics of Hanoi National University of Education, which has a history of over 70 years. The formation process of the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture bears the deep imprint of trust, encouragement, and facilitation from the Party Committee, Prof. Nguyen Van Minh – the President of the University, and the Board of Directors, as well as the enthusiastic support and assistance from colleagues, specialized in Chinese language and culture.

Dr. Ngo Thi Khanh Chi - representative of the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture shared her thoughts

After the announcement ceremony of the establishment of the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture, there was the Declaration of the approval of the collaboration to organize the HSK certification exam for Hanoi National University of Education. To date, 163 countries worldwide have established HSK test centers, totaling 1,374 centers, with over 700,000 candidates registering for the exam annually. The HSK certification is a widely recognized standard for assessing Chinese language proficiency worldwide. It is believed that with the efforts of the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture and Hanoi National University of Education, the HSK test center will play an important role in providing more opportunities for cultural exchange and better learning experiences for Vietnamese students.
