The university was honored to welcome guests including representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET); leaders of functional units of the Ministry, leaders of the Party Committee of Hanoi universities and colleges; leaders of the Central Publicity Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; leaders of the Departments of Education and Training, high schools; leaders of government agencies, organizations, and leaders of Foreign Embassies in Vietnam to attend the ceremony.

On behalf of  HNUE, there were teachers in the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, the University Council, Former Presidents, Former Party Secretaries, the Chairman of the Trade Union, the Secretary of the Youth Union; the Chairman of the Student Union; representatives of the Alumni Association; Heads, Deputy Heads of Units; Party Secretary; Trade Union Chairman of the Department; Heads, Deputy Heads of Departments; Professors, Associate Professors, PhDs, Lecturers, Principal Researchers, Senior Staff, Senior Accountants, Senior Librarians; as well as postgraduate students and undergraduate students of the University. There were representatives from the press and media agencies.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Party Central Committee, the Secretary of the Party Committee, the Minister of Ministry of Education and Training, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Son presented the Decision, offered congratulations, and delivered a pertinent speech for Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Son - the new President of Hanoi National University of Education. The leadership of the Ministry of Education and Training emphasized, "Currently, our national education system is in a transitional phase, with numerous challenges but also opportunities for the Rector of Hanoi University of Education to demonstrate their capabilities and qualities, leading the teachers with a glorious mission. I appreciate and hope that the President of Hanoi National University of Education and the entire university community will assist the Ministry of Education and Training and the Minister in planning and critiquing policies, advisory and implementation tasks, pilot programs, and various other tasks. I also share with the President the difficulties in this era of autonomy and creativity, especially in a prestigious institution like Hanoi National  University of Education. I hope that you will make good use of innovations in the educational reform process and the current high demand for learning in Vietnam to foster strong development for Hanoi National University of Education in the near future. A leader who starts with their fairness will encounter the whole-hearted dedication of their colleagues."

During the ceremony, the Minister outlined several tasks for the new President of Hanoi National University of Education, which are as follows:

1. Review and adjust the development strategy to align with the requirements, current situation, and new mission of the university, in order to meet the needs of the fields and society.

2. Develop policies to attract and cultivate human resources for the university, ensuring a high-quality team that is commensurate with the position and development requirements of the institution.

3. Research and innovate the university's models and training programs, maintaining the exemplary nature of curriculum development and implementation. This will enable the transfer of knowledge and best practices to other teacher training institutions nationwide.

4. Enhance research capabilities in educational science, educational management, and the provision of educational services to address specific issues in the field and meet society's learning needs.

5. Develop infrastructure, particularly in information technology, following a synchronized and modern approach. This will lay the foundation for the development of a smart, green, and sustainable university model, serving as a role model for other universities.

6. Contribute actively and play a core role in the training and development of teachers and educational administrators in general education, meeting the fundamental and comprehensive requirements of educational innovation.

Having received the trust to hold the position of President of Hanoi National University of Education for the term 2020-2025, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Son extends sincere gratitude to the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Party Committee of the Hanoi University Block of Universities and Colleges, partner universities both domestically and internationally, the Party Committee, Council, Board of Directors, and all staff members throughout the university. At the same time, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Son expresses deep appreciation to Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Minh, the former President of the university, for his significant contributions during the previous period. The President emphasizes, "Together with the university's leadership team, we will wholeheartedly work and act with the highest goal for Hanoi National University of Education. We will accompany and listen to, as well as promote the strengths of our staff. We inherit a long-standing and invaluable legacy, with over 70 years of history that has witnessed many sacred moments, including four visits by President Ho Chi Minh to the university. This is the first institution to train teachers for secondary and higher education, the place where the first successful doctoral theses in the country were defended. It serves as a pilot institution for diversifying forms of education and contributes significantly to teacher training institutions nationwide..."

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Son, the President of Hanoi University of Education, shares, "The image of Hanoi National University of Education represents the culmination of the intellectual contributions from our teachers, educators, and students who have journeyed throughout the long history of Vietnam's education system. The university's leadership team will continue to work alongside the staff to put into practice the values that have been defined as 'Standard, Creativity, and Pioneering,' while also realizing the educational philosophy of the university. In the upcoming period, the university will leverage collective intelligence and strength to develop the strategic plan for the 2025-2030 phase, effectively fulfilling the mission of being the leading teacher training institution in the country."

This event holds special and significant importance, marking a new milestone in the process of strengthening the university's leadership team. It serves as a foundation for the university to continue its journey towards autonomy, asserting the university's new position at the national and regional level.
