From the University of Auckland, there were Professor Mark Barrow - Dean of the Faculty of Education and Social Work, Professor Marek Tesar - Head of the School of Learning Development and Professional Practice, and Head of International Partnerships within the Faculty of Education and Social Work.
Representing Hanoi National University of Education were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Trao - Vice President of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thi Lam - Dean of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Dean of the Faculty of Social Work, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Tri - Dean of the Faculty of Educational Management, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Bien - Director of the Center for Research and Development of Teaching Staff; Dr. Dao Thi Bich Nguyen - Deputy Head of the Faculty of English; Dr. Pham Thi Ngoc Quynh - Deputy Head of The President's Office, and Dr. Pham Minh Hoa - Faculty of Early Childhood Education.
Opening the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Trao - Vice President of the University, delivered a speech welcoming the delegation from the University of Auckland (New Zealand) to visit and work with Hanoi National University of Education. He introduced the history and essential role of Hanoi National University of Education in the national education system. He also emphasized the opportunities for cooperation between the two training institutions based on the partnership between the two countries and the similarities in mission and vision between the two universities.
Speaking at the meeting, Professor Mark Barrow - Dean of the Faculty of Education and Social Work, expressed his sincere gratitude for the warm and respectful welcome from the University. He introduced vital information about the University of Auckland, the leading public university in New Zealand, with over 46,000 students and 10,000 staff. It is the country's largest research organization and home to 1/3 of New Zealand's top researchers, a comprehensive national university with eight faculties (Medicine and Health Sciences, Engineering, Science, Education and Social Work, Business, Law, Arts, and Creative Arts and Industries) and two large-scale research institutes (the Liggins Institute and the Auckland Bioengineering Institute). The University of Auckland is ranked 65th in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2024, first in New Zealand in the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2023, and 13th in the Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings 2024.
At the meeting, representatives of the faculties and departments: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thi Lam, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Tri, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Bien; Dr. Dao Thi Bich Nguyen; Dr. Pham Thi Ngoc Quynh shared and made practical proposals on cooperation opportunities in training, education; scientific research and student/staff exchange in various forms.
The working program concluded with important conclusions on the direction of international cooperation between Hanoi National University of Education and the University of Auckland (New Zealand). The meeting also opened up opportunities to connect faculties, institutes, and centers under Hanoi National University of Education with the network of schools, faculties, institutes, and research centers of the University of Auckland (New Zealand).
