Opening the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Hien - Party Secretary and Chairman of the University Council, welcomed the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (USA) delegation to visit and work with Hanoi National University of Education. Assoc. Prof. Hien introduced the history of formation and the vital role of Hanoi National University of Education in the national education system. Assoc. Prof. Hien also emphasized the opportunities for cooperation between the two training institutions based on the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and the similarities in mission and vision between the two universities.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Gretchen Neisler - Vice Provost for International Affairs, expressed her sincere thanks for the warm and solemn welcome from the University. Dr. Gretchen Neisler introduced key information about the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, which is one of the institutions in the University of Tennessee system, established in 1794 and ranked among the top public universities in the United States with a diverse, multidisciplinary, and high-quality training system; the fields of science, technology, research, and development are continuously invested in on a large scale.

At the meeting, representatives of faculties and departments: Prof. Luc Huy Hoang, Assoc. Prof. Duong Minh Lam, Assoc. Prof. Do Danh Bich, Assoc. Prof. Tran Duc Hau, Assoc. Prof. Khuc Nang Toan and Dr. Nguyen Manh Tuan shared and proposed practical ideas about opportunities for cooperation in training, education, scientific research, and student/staff exchange in various forms.
The exchange program took place enthusiastically with questions from representatives of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, about in-service teacher training programs, pre-service teacher training in Vietnam, support mechanisms/cooperation in the fields of international cooperation, scientific research of the University, and issues that the University of Tennessee, Knoxville wishes to collaborate with Hanoi National University of Education to research in the coming time.
The program concluded with essential conclusions about the direction of international cooperation between Hanoi National University of Education and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The meeting also opened up opportunities for connecting the faculties, institutes, and centers of Hanoi National University of Education with the network of schools, faculties, institutes, and research centers of the University of Tennessee system (USA).
