The outstanding achievements of two students, Tran Duy and Ta Duc Anh, from the High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi National University of Education, in the 2024 International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO 2024)

This year, all six Vietnamese students participating in the 2024 International Mathematical Olympiad won medals and certificates, including 2 Silver medals, 3 Bronze medals, and 1 Certificate of Merit. The High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi National University of Education, is honored to have 2 of the 6 members who won a Silver medal and a Certificate of Merit, namely Tran Duy and Ta Duc Anh. The Vietnamese team ranked 33rd out of 108 countries and territories at IMO 2024.

The 65th International Mathematical Olympiad was held from July 11th to 22nd in the United Kingdom, with 109 teams from 109 countries and territories, and 609 contestants participating. The contestants went through 2 official competition days, with a duration of 4.5 hours per day. The scores required for a Gold medal were 29, Silver 22, and Bronze 16.

Tran Duy and Ta Duc Anh are both 12th-grade students in the Math 1 class at the High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi National University of Education. Tran Duy won the Second Prize and achieved the highest score among the Vietnamese team participating in this year's International Mathematical Olympiad. Ta Duc Anh was awarded a Certificate of Merit and achieved the highest score in the 2024 National Excellent Student Competition in Mathematics.

This result continues to affirm the right direction in the school's work of selecting, fostering, and training talented students. The outstanding achievements of the teachers and students of the High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi National University of Education, are due to the enthusiastic dedication of the teachers in the training process; the tireless efforts of the students; the close support of parents; and the positive guidance of the University's Board.
